In our second episode of the Curious Conscious Capitalist Podcast, we chat with Marc Blackman, CEO of Gold Eagle Brands.
Gold Eagle Brands manufactures and distributes products to enhance the performance of engines… think your car, your boat, or even your lawnmower. Their purpose is “to protect and preserve the things you love.”
What we found compelling about the Gold Eagle story is that it is an 80-year-old family business, that – not unlike many companies in this new economy – needed to rethink its ‘go to market’ strategy to meet the current demands of its customers. But they didn’t stop there.
They took a good look internally at their physical office too, and redesigned it for a modern day workforce to create a physical space that encouraged more collaboration and would be more appealing and attractive to millennial employees. They were also smart enough to know that a fresh coat of paint wasn’t going to be enough to “modernize their environment.” They went even deeper inward and are in the process of going through a cultural transformation to redesign their entire company for the future.
